Business relations

Businesses (including their constant adaptation, innovation, markets, etc) are an integral part of the ESTIA engineer’s "training landscape". Throughout their training, they come into direct contact with economic activities: new businesses at the ESTIA nursery as well as larger partner companies, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in real situations.

  •  ESTIA develops high level expertise in mechanics, electronics, energy and IT. Businesses have access to the know-how and skills developed by the school with the following operations:
    - training
    - research
    - technology transfer
  • In terms of engineering training, this partnership involves:
    - numerous industrial projects during training
    - numerous industrial internships
    - the possibility of apprenticeship training as part of a sandwich course
    - interventions by a large number of professionals in teaching and governance
    - continuous training actions
    - annual organisation of a career forum and several apprenticeship forums
    - financial contributions (Estia Business Foundation, apprenticeship tax)
  • Business awareness is an integral part of ESTIA courses: students are made aware of innovation and creating new activities:
    - with supervised company visits
    - lessons on economics and general company policy, strategy, marketing and project management
    - 2 conferences on preparing business plans and setting up a business
    - this is all stimulated by the experience of company founders and businesses hosted at ESTIA ENTREPRENDRE business nursery
  • ESTIA RESEARCH laboratory also carries out work in several research fields along with industrialists, through research contracts and national or European research programmes.

ESTIA is directly involved in the organisation of its socio-economic environment and plays an active role in the activities of several regional clusters and competitive clusters:

  • ESTIA is a member of Aerospace Valley (world aeronautical, space and embedded systems competitive cluster), Avenia (energy & environment cluster), EUROSIMA Cluster (board sports industries), SYSOLIA (cluster for industrial solar systems in Aquitaine)
  • ESTIA is also part of ADEISO, Association for the Development of Electronics & IT in SW France, and ESKAL EUREKA which brings together several dozen companies in the field of construction and civil engineering
