From 12 July to 4 August 2025, ESTIA welcomed 19 students from several Chinese universities as part of its Summer School dedicated to Intelligent Industry 4.0. This international programme is in line with the school's desire to promote engineering geared towards innovation, collaboration and cultural openness.
For three weeks, participants explored advanced technologies related to IoT, 3D design, automation and artificial intelligence. Guided by ESTIA's teacher-researchers, they strengthened their skills in rapid prototyping, product innovation and agile project management.
The trip was also punctuated by a number of educational and cultural highlights. Themed conferences gave students a better understanding of the challenges facing the industries of the future, while visits such as those to the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse and the Huawei Paris OpenLab gave them a hands-on immersion in current industrial applications.
Beyond the technical aspects, this Summer School was also a real human and cultural adventure. Between French lessons, visits to emblematic cities such as Bordeaux, Toulouse, Biarritz and San Sebastian, sporting and festive activities, and participation in local events such as the Fête de Bayonne, the students discovered the many facets of French and Basque culture.
The programme culminated in a presentation, in English, of technical projects developed as a team, before a panel of teachers. Each of the participants was awarded an ESTIA training certificate, testifying to the excellence of the work accomplished.
This experience fully reflects ESTIA's mission: to train engineers who are creative, committed and open to the world.
