This was the challenge taken up by Justin Linon, an engineering student at ESTIA, during his work placement at the Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Kuopio, Finland), as part of the EU4DUAL - The European Dual Studies University programme.
Rather than join a company, Justin chose to focus on his start-up project Exp'Pyr, which designs innovative racks for electric bikes.
Supported by the teams at the Business Center Pohjois-Savo and mentors Matti Laitinen and Harri Holopainen, he was able to combine technical design, market research and prototype development, while exploring a new economic and cultural context.
This programme enabled me to build something concrete. Rather than working for an external company, I was able to apply my engineering skills to my own project," explains Justin.
A fine illustration of the EU4Dual philosophy, which encourages training through action, the development of an entrepreneurial spirit and European cooperation between institutions.
👏 Congratulations to Justin on this inspiring experience, and thank you to our partners at Savonia for their welcome and support!
