Biographie
Ionel VECHIU is a full professor of electrical engineering at the ESTIA Institute of Technology, France. He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Galati University, Romania, in 2001, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. from Le Havre University, France, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. In 2013, he obtained his Habilitation to Conduct Research (HDR) in Applied Power Electronics and Control from Grenoble INP, France.
Professor Vechiu's research focuses on designing, modelling, and controlling distributed generation systems, power converters, and related control techniques for renewable energy integration. His work also addresses power quality, weak grid stability, optimal predictive control, and energy storage system management. A key objective of his research is leveraging the MicroGrid concept to optimize the integration o f renewable energy sources and storage systems across various applications.
He has co-authored over 80 papers in leading international journals and conferences, is a member of many networks such as GDR SEEDS, R3 TESNA, and IEEE, and is actively involved in several research projects.
