Biographie
Laurent Terrenoir, raised in Savoie, graduated from the Institut Français de Mécanique Avancée (IFMA) in 2018 with a degree in engineering. He began his career as a consultant engineer before pursuing a PhD at ESTIA in 2020. His research, supervised by Professors Christophe Merlo, Julie Lartigau, and Laura Laguna Salvado, focused on developing a decision-support model for optimising manufacturing parameters in metal additive manufacturing, balancing mechanical, economic, and environmental metrics. The project was carried out in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton, where he undertook a four-month research placement under Professor Arun Arjunan’s mentorship. Upon completing his doctorate in 2023, he earned qualification under both Sections 60 (mechanics) and 61 (industrial engineering) of the French National University Council. Since 2024, he has held the position of Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering at ESTIA. He is a member of the Association Française de Mécanique, the S.mart group, the SAGIP, and serves on the board of EcoSD as the representative for the College of Early Career Researchers.
