The afternoon began with a meeting with the ESTIA teams. Drawing on an approach inspired by the workings of living organisms, Olivier Hamant invited participants to take a step back and reflect on their practices, to question models centred on the constant pursuit of performance, and to explore new avenues for reflection and improvement for the School.
This initial meeting was followed by a lecture open to the public entitled ‘Resilience and territory: how can a territory respond to crises at its own level?’. In the face of climatic, geopolitical and economic challenges, Olivier Hamant presented robustness as an alternative way of thinking about organisations, technical systems and regions, drawing in particular on lessons from living systems.
The lecture also provided an opportunity to open a dialogue with the public and to explore the application of these principles at a local level, particularly in the Basque Country.
Both events were very well received and gave rise to numerous discussions. ESTIA would like to extend its warmest thanks to Olivier Hamant for attending, for his availability and for the time he devoted to sharing his ideas, his work and his vision, as well as to all those who took part in these two events.
