A live insight into the heart of an international humanitarian project
Today, ESTIA students are taking you to Guatemala through a unique Instagram takeover. For a whole day, Victor and his colleagues from the Humanitea association will be sharing their experiences on the ground, offering an up-close look at their charitable work.
This immersive format allows you to discover, in real time, another facet of engineering education: that of commitment, openness to the world and concrete action.
Humanitea: a student association committed to humanitarian aid
The Humanitea association is part of a commitment-driven initiative led by ESTIA students. Through international missions, its members take part in impactful projects, combining humanitarian aid, local cooperation and cultural exchanges.
In Guatemala, these initiatives take various forms depending on the needs identified on the ground: supporting local initiatives, participating in solidarity projects or sharing skills.
Beyond the work itself, these experiences are above all about people. They foster connections, an understanding of local issues and the development of a responsible approach to engineering.
International mobility at ESTIA: a formative experience
At ESTIA, international mobility is an integral part of the training programme. It enables students to develop key skills for their future careers as engineers:
- adaptability
- intercultural openness
- understanding of global issues
- civic engagement
Projects carried out with organisations such as Humanitea perfectly illustrate this ambition: to train engineers capable of working in a variety of contexts, whilst taking into account human, social and environmental factors.
An Instagram takeover to highlight student engagement
This Instagram takeover is part of a drive to share these experiences with as many people as possible. Through live stories, Victor and his team offer a behind-the-scenes look at their mission:
- their daily life in the field
- the initiatives they’ve carried out
- the people they meet
- the challenges they face
This authentic format gives students a voice and highlights their commitment beyond the academic setting.
An engineering school open to the world
With initiatives such as this, ESTIA reaffirms its position: an engineering school rooted in its local community, yet resolutely focused on the international stage.
Training an engineer today also means equipping them with the tools to understand the world around them and contribute positively to it.
