Over the course of 24 hours, three engineering students from ESTIA take you on a journey into the heart of their study abroad experience in Germany. An authentic immersion offering an insider’s view of what it really means to study and grow on an international stage.

An international experience to help you grow in a different way

Leaving your daily routine behind, moving to a different country, hearing another language… and growing up a little faster.

This week, Nina Joucher, Diane Caillol-D’Andréa and Adam Chelouche, first-year engineering students at ESTIA, are making the most of this international experience during a study placement in Germany.

For 24 hours, they’re sharing their daily lives as they immerse themselves in the local culture by taking over ESTIA’s Instagram account. It’s an original and authentic way to give an insider’s view of what an academic stay abroad is really like.

Studying abroad: much more than just classes

An international exchange is not just about attending classes in another language.

It is a complete human experience, made up of first-time experiences, new landmarks and memorable encounters.
It is also a unique opportunity to develop essential skills for the engineers of tomorrow:

  • Adapting to an intercultural environment
  • Working in international contexts
  • Developing independence and open-mindedness

All of these are assets that have become indispensable in a globalised professional world.

EU4Dual: a European alliance dedicated to work-based learning

This mobility initiative is part of EU4Dual, a European alliance of universities committed to developing work-based learning on an international scale.

Its aim: to offer students hybrid pathways, combining academic learning and professional experience across several European countries.

Thanks to EU4Dual, ESTIA engineering students can:

  • Study at partner universities across Europe
  • Discover new teaching methods
  • Collaborate with international students
  • Prepare practically for the challenges of the workplace

An internationally-oriented approach to teaching at ESTIA

At ESTIA, international outlook is at the heart of the educational programme.

Mobility is an integral part of the students’ journey, with opportunities in Europe and internationally throughout the course.

These experiences help to train engineers who are able to:

  • Thrive in multicultural environments
  • Understand diverse economic contexts
  • Link technological challenges to real-world situations
