Entrepreneurship, space, international mobility, EU4Dual… Over the course of several days, ESTIA students had the chance to meet teams, hear personal accounts and discover different ways to get involved both within and beyond the school.
A first edition that has engaged students
Right from the start of SEM’Σ, around 90 students gathered to find out about the three main themes highlighted this year: entrepreneurship, international mobility and careers in the space sector.
Throughout the week, the various events attracted a strong turnout.
Space Day, in particular, brought together around 70 students to explore opportunities in the space sector. Following this event, around thirty students had already expressed an interest in the initiatives being developed through ESTIA Space.
International mobility also generated a great deal of enthusiasm, with a packed lecture theatre and around 120 students in attendance to discover the many opportunities for studying abroad offered by ESTIA. International exchanges, European experiences and even MOB’E – a scheme enabling students to gain entrepreneurial experience within European incubators in the EU4Dual network – have prompted many students to start thinking seriously about their future mobility plans.
Entrepreneurship and community engagement whilst studying at ESTIA
Student entrepreneurship was also at the heart of this first Engagement Week.
A session dedicated to start-ups brought together around 80 students and sparked a great deal of interest in entrepreneurship. In particular, around thirty new student-entrepreneurs were identified, as well as several candidates interested in the National Student-Entrepreneur Status (SNEE).
This momentum will also continue through the creation of a team of student ambassadors, which has already attracted the interest of around fifteen students.
Promoting all forms of student engagement
Beyond the figures, the aim of this first SEM’Σ was to highlight the pathways, initiatives and experiences that enable students to gradually build their academic and professional careers.
This week was also made possible thanks to the efforts of the ESTIA teams and, above all, the many committed students who came to share their experiences, speak about their journeys and inspire new students.
